VÖLKEL offers many different sets for thread cutting tools, which are conveniently assembled for the workplace. From practical pocket sets for fitters up to complete workshop assortments.
V-COIL offers many practical thread repair sets for the following thread types: Metric, metric fine, UNC, UNF, UNx8 as well as for BSW Whitworth, BSF (British-Standard-Fine) and G (BSP) pipe threads.
STI hand taps (Screw Thread Insert taps) are specialized taps designed for producing of internal threads for wire-thread-inserts.
STI Machine Taps (Screw Thread Insert taps) are similar to STI hand taps but are specifically designed for use with CNC machines, automatic tapping machines, or drill presses with tapping heads.machines
VÖLKEL rapid STI taps are also available as part of the V-COIL rapid Thread Repair Workshop. Tools are compact for awkward spaces.
Manufactured from high quality chromium nickel stainless steel, V-Coil inserts provide high strength internal threads that resist the effects of temperature and corrosion.
HSS-G screw taps are suitable for machinable raw materials up to 900 N/mm². The design in HSS-E for hard to machine raw materials up to 1200 N/mm² and vapourised hand screw taps are particularly suited to wear-resistant steels up to 1400 N/mm².
The taps can be distinguished from their thread leads and marking. Pre-cutters (rougher) are marked on their shank with one and middle cutter (intermediate) with two rings. The finished cutter does not carry a ring and is generally not marked.
HSSE Machine taps for through holes:
Hex die nuts are designed for general use on non-abrasive materials up to 800 N/mm², offering easy thread repair with a standard wrench. Made from durable HSS, they are ideal for unalloyed and low-alloyed steel. For tougher, abrasive materials up to 1200 N/mm², HSS-E hex die nuts provide high cutting ability.
Combined bits with a 1/4″ hex drive are designed for drilling, tapping, and deburring in one operation. They work with battery-powered or electric hand drills, supporting both right- and left-hand rotation, and are suitable for stationary drilling machines. Ideal for materials like non-ferrous metals and thermoplastics (up to 600 N/mm²), these bits can create through threads up to 1x diameter. They are especially useful for assembly work and small batch production. For best results, ensure the tool and hole axis are aligned, and always use proper cutting oil.
HSS round dies are designed for general use on non-abrasive materials up to 800 N/mm², making them ideal for threading unalloyed and low-alloyed steel. HSS-E round dies offer high cutting ability for abrasive materials up to 1200 N/mm², including stainless steel (INOX). Gun-nosed round dies ensure efficient threading with smooth chip evacuation, enhancing performance in various applications.
Square dies are designed for threading non-abrasive materials up to 800 N/mm², including unalloyed and low-alloyed steel. Their shape allows for precise thread cutting in manual operations, making them ideal for general-purpose threading tasks.
Tap wrenches and die stocks are essential tools for manual threading operations. Tap wrenches provide a firm grip and precise control for taps when cutting internal threads, while die stocks hold threading dies securely for cutting external threads.
